@lauren I sincerely hope you already know about @protonprivacy? I moved to it years ago and it's been fantastic - especially with their suit of products. Be a customer, not the product. But it all depends on all your priorities and needs.

@protonprivacy This is such a bad idea. What even is the point of this "feature"? MSFT has gone full insane. I thank my stars to have moved to Linux last year and only keep my Mac for entertainment (quality streaming prints of rented movies).

@aral Well, normally when a policy of no politics is in place, all that means is that no political discourse must exists at your workplace or while working. It only means refraining from the subject matter in all correspondence when at work. It does not mean disparagement whose existence may be political. You’re conflating the two, I feel.

@protonprivacy actually, a standalone separate password makes more sense because you want to remember one password to get into your Pass account but then store more complicated passwords within to get into all other accounts you have including the same proton account for email and others. I too was hoping for a standalone and separate password for Pass. They way you be makes it makes little sense for a realistic workflow as you only want to remember one password and now two for the same acct

@protonprivacy thank you for considering it. And I understand your logic being such an implementation but it makes less sense given the workflow we are trying to explain here with how we thought this feature addition would be implanted by you. So, I hope this is considered and is updated with what we have explained here in this thread about a separate password and not necessarily an extra password.

@arstechnica the indictment of the American education system is all this means. Lack of secularism and quality education is to blame. Of course, the upbringing plays a huge role.
