       @louis @cmeier @amszmidt @galdor doesn't bother me in the slightest, GNU has their beliefs & they stick to them.as far as emacs on macos goes, apple make no bones it's not supported & more than 2/3rds of issues i see are mac users whining it doesn't work.

       @ringtailringo getting on the do it all in emacs bandwagon is one of biggest pitfalls with #emacs in my opinion.not everything has a good experience in Emacs,  irc & matrix for example. if all you use emacs for is notes & org node or just magit that's fine.

It wasn't always so.Thinkpads were quite chunky as they built proper heatsinks on their workstation laptops until the mid 2010s when Intel seeing the small margins screwed users by ultrabook marketing funds for low voltage CPUs that throttle under any non trivial load that undercut AMD prices.
