Unintentionally awesome implication that gender is a costume we wear over our core selves.

@ehashmanWe don't know the details of that assertion, but we've been in ops for about a year, and been traumatised by the sleeplessness and stress-vomiting (and worse) of the profession. It's likely that the environment we were in was especially broken and dysfunctional, but we yearn for the calm of not being frontline for putting out all the fires.

@feathersong @amydentata In (very oversimplified) summary, a barnacle collective interfaces with capitalist society as it is in order to co-exist with capitalism while parasitically co-opting its resources to provide mutual aid amongst its members, with the eventual goal of replacing capitalism. It proposes potential models for governance, federation, resource pooling, property, dissociating labour from wages, mobility, and technology that may need to be developed to facilitate those goals.

@bird@fatboyAs the populace at large appears disinterested in this public interest endeavor, we have taken it upon ourselves as individuals to use metric exclusively in all conversions in all contexts. Already, in order to be able to communicate with us, others have learnt to think metric.

@lynnesbianI don't know about other people, but decis have a strong preference for Arch Linux, and like to put it even on computers that come with other flavours of Linux pre-installed. We also hack Arch Linux onto VPSes whose providers don't provide an Arch image or ISO. And for good measure, we also install Arch in a VM on computers whose primary OS cannot be Arch.
