I modified astro (#Gemini client) and with a lot of bodging got it working on my ancient #TinyCore laptop! This thing has 128MB of RAM!

@fooneIt was explained to me at college as capacitors basically being gaps in a circuit, so DC can't really pass through but AC can induce a current on the other side, like it does in a transformer. I don't know how true that is though...

It just hit me that following someone from #snac is a little easier than from #Mastodon (for people not on your timeline) because the user ops just has a textbox and a "follow" button rather than having to search for their username and server, *then* open their profile and only *then* click follow. That's 2-3 button mouse-clicks for Mastodon compared with 1 for snac!

You know how some #musicians/#composers are essentially #poets who set their work to music? Common examples given of people like this are Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen. Well, here in the fediverse we have our own in the form of Helen Bell ( @helenbellmusic ). Helen's #music is amazing and pure #poetry: I recommend listening to her EP "Late Night Letters" as a primer if you've never heard her work before, them maybe her album "Roll As A Hexagon" for further discovery.

Oh #FFS! Trying to install #Offpunk and the #Python #Cryptography library requires #Rust now. So I install Rust and nothing works... Turns out the whole of the Rust ecosystem is dependent upon one server which is currently down and as such I can't do anything Rust related until they fix it, which means Python is also stuffed in the meantime! #IHateRust
