Please excuse my ignorance.How do I follow people on GNUSocial? When I hover the mouse over their name all I see is a link to their page over on the other instance. Is javascript needed to follow people?

@administrator The other front-end issue is in your(?) default 'elbinario' theme. When hovering over the Send button, for example a new border width is added to the button, making all the content below that button jump down.To fix, in display.css, it seemed that changing border-width from 0 to 1px to match the hover thickness, fixed the issue, ie.For elements:.form_notice input.submit, .form_settings input.submit, .form_settings input.cancel, #form_invite input.submit, .entity_subscribe .dialogbox input.submit_dialogbox, .entity_tag .dialogbox input.submit_dialogbox, .form_repeat.dialogbox input.submit_dialogbox{ border-width: 1px; /* NOT 0 */}

Hi @administrator, as an exercise in trying to make the default 'elbinario' theme a bit more visually pleasing I have done (and fixed) a few things. You can add this CSS to any page in the browser.It's not everything that I would do but its a start. There are some issues with the HTML for example commas in the LIST section are not directly after the comma separated item and so their are new lines that start with commas. Also, when tagging sometimes the '@' symbol is not part of the link, which looks messy. Likewise the '#' symbol in hashtags is not part of the link. Again, looks messy.The CSS though, starts in the next message.1/3

Thanks for your very prompt reply. Yes, I have included gajim in the very short list at Step 3. I added the link to my guide into my profile description just now (in case Mastodon-centric Fediverse clients don't show GNUSocial profile elements).Its the small things in #Pidgin isn't it? Like not knowing the purpose of a window, no access to emoji (smileys are not emoji), little inconsistencies in what things are named and not suggesting the type of data to enter into fields. A few minor tweaks (and visual) improvements and it would be very impressive.After I have done the CSS patches for GNUSocial instances I /may/ be able to help with Pidgin. People are going to come here with baggage from the silo-networks and may have different opinions that might seems unshakeable, our role is to be fabulous examples of awesome, and they will slowly get over themselves. As individuals, muting is fine, but I do take issue with wholesale trigger happy blocking by instances, and algorithms to filter the chronological feed. It just means we keep people on the #fakebook-style platforms, which are extracting the very life essence from our societies for multinational corporate gain.Please stop and think; there is more to a person than their stance on #gender.
