       @sean I think there will be a pretty large meltdown at some point in the future where the #Twitter "refugees" realize they can't pull their nonsense here, and step by step instances will defederate from the larger ones to build smaller bubbles where the #checkmark people are banned.

       @artsyhonker @pettter @sean That is one plausible way it might play out, yeah.Another would be that commercial/corporate/"professional"/"beginner friendly" instances emerge out of a misguided idea of making Mastodon mainstream-compatible and marketable, with unlimited federation, industry grade hosting, monetization and a professional moderation team, and those fostering the same culture #Twitter did, and then some.And Mastodon becoming synonymous with those for the public eye.
