@prydt speaking of that scene, it was relieved when he was finally like "good news, we don't need the monitor" and ditched itthe whole time I was like "LEAVE THE DAMN MONITOR"

@prydt I normally just read it whenever I feel like it. they usually have exercises in them, so if I wanna make sure I have a solid grasp on it, I'll do those. if they don't have them, I'll do my own if I want to get more into it.

@prydt better compiler support. any C compiler worth its salt will compile c99.

@prydt its generally better to use snprintf, so you can specify a max size to put in the bufferthis will prevent you from accidentally overflowing it later ^^

Today is my first day at a full-time software engineering jobI never knew how much of a pain in the ass it is to work with proprietary software with shitty documentationThe site with the docs was totally borked so we had to scavenge them from someone's old files who downloaded it last year

well, today was quite a dayI was handed a monolothic legacy C# app and a card reader with shitty docs and told, "make this app talk to this reader"I spent most of the day poking around with the docs and API of the reader, so I'll probably spend tomorrow plowing through that ghastly codebase:blobdead: I heard them tell a client "we've got the new guys on it, so give it a month or so", so I guess that's a deadline to work with
