@Raspberry_Pi Still regularly sold as a Hologram by people good at marketing and not wanting to admit that a 19th century theatre effect is still relevant.

@nsarwark "I was wrong" sounds like you're a human and is the hardest thing to admit, let alone say. Humans are fallible.

@mansr @neil Yes, now I'm thinking about the stress caused by finding acceptable presents.

Controlling Windows processes from the command line is evidently bad enough that Bing recommends the Samaritans.

@simon @mattround I worked on a YouTube Creators event in Berlin a few years ago and clearly remember recognising a tiny, very shy Irish girl (Janet Devlin) and a very intense and friendly English man who wanted to know all the technical details of the stuff I was working on. I very much enjoyed this streak of videos and you're right: it was excellent way of signing off.

@neil Am I being naive to think that it's not considered assault in most reasonable countries?

@tripu Three men passing judgement on this is not a good look. Justifying an action because a woman has done something similar is unacceptable.

@tripu Disappointingly, there's more than a touch of misogyny in your posts and linked blog, so I have to take the view that what happened at the WWC was not serious or a crime. cc @neil

@neil @tripu I'd also not consider any sexual offence as 'mild' in the way @tripu is trying to differentiate. My point about three men discussing this is that as 40-something, white, presumably straight based on profiles, Western men, we are the definition of privilege.

A former colleague has just asked if I have plans to pop out to Dubai at some point soon so we can catch up. I jokingly suggested winter... may be less joking now.
