I've been using this account as my primary for about a week now, and I'm think I'm settled on using it for the foreseeable future, so I guess it's time to do another #introduction post.I'm a dad of four kids, and a web developer. I have a college degree in #Theater (or #Theatre) and had aspirations of being an actor. I kind of fell into web development as a career. It was a hobby back in high school, and I just needed to pay some bills after college, so I ended up doing this.I always have aspirations to do other things, but for now, I'm pretty happy spending most of my time as a dad and husband. Some day, I'd like to get back into #acting, or maybe do some #VoiceActing. I also enjoy #writing and will, from time to time, post some #MicroFiction, usually from somebody's #WritingPrompt.I love #StarTrek, and usually watch at least one episode nearly every day. I like all #SciFi really, though, as well as #fantasy. I used to read a lot, but find I don't have as much time or mental capacity for it as I used to. I also enjoy watching #anime, and have really been enjoying the new episodes of #Bleach lately.Feel free to follow me if you think we have similar interests, and I may follow you back, if I think likewise. 👋#WebDev #PHP #BackEnd #Laravel #introductions #Parenting #DadLife :more_cowbell:

Can you point me to documentation on how to configure it?I tried using my own SSH server, but it just complained when I tried to push.Rejecting changes as Gitea environment not set.I tracked this error down to a missing environment variable: SSH_ORIGINAL_COMMAND.@Codeberg@social.anoxinon.de @forgejo@floss.social

I believe the only way to do what you want is a custom play button and use JavaScript to play/pause the audio. But I would love it if I were wrong.@cattailnu@uiuxdev.social

I saw one of these when I was maybe 11 years old in the middle of the day, during recess.I pointed it out to my friend who was convinced it meant the world was ending.@Ronico@mastodon.world

"Twitter does have quasi-private groups, and they work pretty much the same as messaging apps such as Signal, Telegram, Discord etc."Not quite like those. Those ones have end-to-end encryption. So only the group participants can read the messages.Twitter has no such encryption, so any Twitter developer (or CEO, for that matter) with access to the database can read those messages. This is also true for Mastodon/Fediverse, by the way. No E2E encryption, so server admins (from any of the people in the group) can read the messages.Private messages isn't really a design goal of the Fediverse. There are better options for that, like Matrix.@BarrenPlanet@c.im @cwjohan@mastodon.social @atomicpoet@mastodon.social

It's a good thing the CGI script that processes that form is gone. Looking at the HTML, it could probably be easily used as a spam relay if it were still hooked up.@nkizz@tacobelllabs.net

This is a tough one to narrow down.Termux: because I can't have a computer, even a handheld one, without shell accessntfy: super helpful for pushing notifications to my phone from automated scriptsLauncher: extremely minimal, easy to use, launcher. Even the name is minimal.Honorable mention:SeriesGuide: for tracking my TV viewingInfinity for RedditFedilab used to be one of my top five, but since migrating my account away from Mastodon to microblog.pub, I don't have much use for it.@apps@toot.fedilab.app

Ugghhh. I switched to Kiwi because it was the only Android browser to support the Bypass Paywalls extension. But, I was able to use most any Firefox extension on most Android Firefox forks. It does t require the extension be on Mozilla Add-Ons, and I have an account there. Just make a custom add-on collection of any that I want to use. It's a pain to have to add them to the collection before I could use them, but it worked. Used it on Iceraven, Mull, and Fennec F-Droid.@gravitos@wetdry.world @jaseg@chaos.social

That's just going to push people who do sideload apps to FOSS forks without that requirement. If I can't put IronFox (or another suitable Firefox fork) on my Google Android, I'll get a non-Google Android where I can get it.Joe Blow who puts his little app on GitHub isn't going to bother with that nonsense, so his app just won't work anymore on mainline Android, so fewer people will use mainline Android.@boilingsteam@mastodon.cloud

If I let my kids eat all the candy they got from Halloween, they would be really unwell. Sometimes, it's my job as a parent to protect my children from themselves, and if that means I have to eat some candy, so be it.@ricci@discuss.systems
