@mike @javier I'd say the medical community needs to look deeper into it because there are some very real and serious consequences for hundreds of thousands of people who have now developed all sorts of very serious medical conditions.https://rightsfreedoms.wordpress.com/2021/05/05/vaers-data-released-today-showed-118902-reports-of-adverse-events-following-covid-vaccines/

@mike @javier Sorry to hear about your mom. That's very sad. I certainly get your point. But I hope science is seriously looking at possible connections because it is concerning that so many people who were previously healthy have developed such serious diseases. IF there is a possible link, I thnk we'd all like to know.Time will tell I suppose.

@cooper @e_mydata Were you using Google Messages prior to this? If so, it could be you're still "logged in to the RCS" feature. Your messages may be going there.Apart from that, maybe try a different sms app?

@mike He was a bit eccentric but they didn't have to murder him for it. Perhaps something he said hit a nerve after all?

@kev Sadly this is the state of Linux on the desktop. It's great on the server and in scientific applications, but just too many bugs and issues on desktop to be reliable enough for production. This is why my MacBook now runs MacOS Big Sur instead of various previous Linux distros. Just always had various issues with every distro and countless hours wasted sorting it. I have Linux and Windows running in VMware Player and it serves my needs.

@mike This guy is mostly all talk and no action. After all he isn't the genius behind any product. He is only the Salesman for these products. Other real engineers actually design and make them. Ditto for his cars and rockets. He's just the PR face. Go watch/read a documentary about Tesla motors for more details.

@mike Money is the root problem here. Man was not created to work so much nor to require money. It's only after Adam and Eve sinned that this evil system began. Now evil men take advantage of their positions to shape society in such a way so that both parents need to work long hours or 2 jobs just to make enough money to feed their family. Whereas government should have been protecting the family and making sure every man earned a proper wage to care for his family.

@murtezayesil @mobian @mike @joseph I don't understand why they had advertising in the first place. That's ridiculous Samsung. You're supposes to be a premium brand 🤦‍♂️. It's stupid moves like this that push people to iPhone (which is far worse than Android because not only do Apple gather the same data as Google, they also lock users in, which is way worse.)

@mike Definitely get the Mac. They run incredibly well. Then install vmware and use that to run Linux in a virtual machine. (And Windows if you need to) * [Get a Mac with at least 256 GB SSD]You'll thank me. Trust me.

@mike This is pretty obvious. This is why I'm against all smart home devices, whether an "Assistant" or a doorbell or smart lock, lights etc. They can all be hacked and most of the time are just spy devices. Irrespective of whether Amazon, Apple, Google, Mycroft or whatever.

@mike @kev First thing you should install on any phone is Google Photos and setup auto backup. You'll never lose a photo again.

@kev @mike True but no large tech company offers true privacy. Google, Apple, Amazon are all the same. They all collect the same data on you. But there aren't many private services offering the same level of service. Sadly.

@mike @kev Oh bummer. No way around that then. Ironically Apple probably thought they were doing you a favour by replacing the phone...

@kev It's sad but true. Linux often makes basic things complex unnecessarily. Even on server. There are few GUI tools and everything is complex. A Windows server is fantastic GUI wise and relatively easy to administer.

@kev And it suddenly occured to me to mention even Mastodon has this problem. Try share a link to a post to an external user (eg email or message it to yourself). Then click that link. What you expect to see: the toot you shared, available to read easilyWhat you get: a "create an account to view this toot" page. It's BS! Who on earth is going to create an account on some obscure platform to read a toot???!

@kev You're right. That works properly now. Just a week ago I shared a toot and it didn't work. Anyway glad its sorted.

@kev @theru I'm not expecting you to change your mind but replying to your meme, showing you that it's not idiots and stupid people who are uncertain about the "vaccine" but rather people who have serious concerns and questions like this woman and her family. The VAERS numbers are very concerning and should give anyone with common sense, pause.
