@mike interesting .. I liked working in the office however I found a job 7 years ago which was fully remote and remained the same way. Your experiences would probably be a great source for some kind of social studies :-). I can clearly picture all those people pretending that they're working :-).

@retroedgetech do you by any chance have t460s around ? If that's so, i have some questions about that machine. Bought it for my dad as a replacement for older t-model and i can't get it go to sleep/wakeup mode with Linux on it. Have not tried windows though. Suggestions ? Thoughts? :-) thank you !

@caesarologia @JoeRess @mike isn't Toot a console client for Linux ? I think it's written in #python so it's multiplatform but I wouldn't run in on smartphone display. A bit small for my eyes :-)

@retroedgetech well I don't think that this is the distro problem. Seems more like a bios settings issue... Boot is also very slow. Laptop is in EU so can't do much at the moment :-).

@retroedgetech well slow .. not as fast as my X1 :-) but the main thing which concerns me is the fact that I can't hibernate. Laptop is on another continent so I guess I am out of luck for now to handle anything with it for now. Dad uses it to watch sport channels so I guess shutting down is not a big of a deal. Anyway, thank you very much for replying ! Really appreciate your response.

Is there a way to get #gemini page of #fosstodon ? I guess since there is a protocol limitation the answer would be no but asking just in case there is some more tech savvy person around who knows the opposite answer:-)

@mike there is also one poll which runs weekly. It collects information what you liked during the week and what you did not. Every week same questions, every week same answers. People got numb already but it's "mandatory" to do it every week :-). I've told my manager already that I'm here to work and not be involved in any social experiments. His answer is still the same: "your voice is heard and your opinion is received and I will make sure that upper management hears it too".

@jxself agree. #gemini or #gopher .. there are plenty alternatives however I don't believe that anybody nowadays is actually looking for written information. We all want to have colorful nice pages full of distracting elements :-). Welcome to #www #hell ..

@tchambers not sure why this mass hysteria kicked off with all liberals around the world. They can still be part of the platform, they can still enjoy doing microblogging like they used to. It's just an owner of the #twitter which was changed. Wondering what makes them to move to the platform like #mastodon. #Mastodon hosts many people with different opinions which can trigger another flamewar ..

I'm being asked to test something which could be automated so basically doing a monkey job. Keypoint here is a timeline: almost 2 months of working like a trained monkey to do TESTING based onthe written procedure on the wiki page and I'm required to stay focused and not make any mistakes ifpossible.
