#Mobian continues to impress, the #PinePhone battery drain *feels* faster but Ive found myself doing more so not sure how much is just in my head. So far charging twice gets me through a day, crashes have been rare with primarily using Chatty, Firefox and Telegram. I wish web apps were easier to do in Firefox-esr, Gnome Web scrolling is too slow for me to be ok setting them up there.

Biggest initial #pinephone #plasmamobile usage hurdle - getting over that there's no "hide/show keyboard" button (yet). Per the below this is coming in Plasma 5.22, it'll be a most welcome change! https://gitlab.manjaro.org/manjaro-arm/issues/pinephone/plasma-mobile/-/issues/39

Edit: that and this bug (setting the screen options once causes the device to lock automatically when off the charger when in use)https://gitlab.manjaro.org/manjaro-arm/issues/pinephone/plasma-mobile/-/issues/91

@linmob My main use case would be in PWAs or when the UI fails to let the keyboard be used (currently swipe down on notification bar to get it to come back) - on Android I use the hide/show quite a bit though so there is also a lot of habit involved.

#pine64 #pinetime shipment notification came today, looking forward to seeing what it's like! Like many I used and still have a Pebble kicking around, switched to “dumb“ watches full time though so this will be a change of pace.Got an update on my #pinephone this morning too, and so far so good. Using it for all my forum and fosstodon needs to get used to things until I can move my SIM over. So far it seems to be a 2 charges per day device, which is pretty workable atm

Speaking of, sad that this upstream bug is still around - all hail the king of oversized volume change notification windows! https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=428859

@lucifargundam On both Mobian and Manjaro Phosh (used in the past, havent tried recent images) plus the Manjaro Plasma Mobile (current os) Ive done two charges, I dont trust the indicator once it gets around 40% so more for my peace of mind than anything.

Really liking @linmob list of mobile #linux apps, used it to find PineBattery to help see more than the settings on my #pinephone #manjaro #plasma currently shows. It's great to have a list like this, and seachable too! I only have 4 user installed "apps" so far on the device, everything else is a PWA.

@linmob Yep that is correct! Wanted to try the "default" distro this time around so plan to stick with it at least for awhile.

@lucifargundam Megapixels works sometimes for me, I try to not need the camera but it's nice that its there! On past distros I kept the hardware switch flipped in the off position, and I forget to fo the conversion too (though it did work on it's own once so far).

@linmob Sad to see, but glad they got the news out regardless. Interested to see how mobile linux software is refined over the next year, for those that thought price was a hurdle before I dont know that increasing to flagship levels will make it any easier but hopefully the target audience understands. Here's to some wonderful software improvements in the meantime though!

@linmob Slight formatting error with your link to Purisms virtual keyboard, just a heads up. I hope we see linux phones become even more viable this year than last year, and once software is more finely tuned even with the low specs of the PinePhone I think we could be in a good spot (let alone if we ever see a high spec device or new chipsets in use). I missed out on linux phones last time around, happy to be a small part of the current momentum.

Beginner question here but can anyone help direct me and/or explain WHERE feedback/issues for #pine64 #pinephone #manjaro #plasmamobile should go or be? Taking a look I see various places from KDE.org, the manjaro forum and the manjaro gitlab and dont really know which items should go where. I dont have a need for this knowledge asap but would like to learn for when I do #askfedi

@jalcine I do like to check the forum, and a lot of times can find stuff there first so thats definitely a safe bet - thanks for the advice! Some things are a bit easier to figure out (like the pagea for specific plasma mobile apps for instance).

@linmob @talkpine Like the keyboard, and the photo quality fits the vibe of this nicely imo, really liking the improvements (and waiting for them to roll out to manjaro)
