@MelGibsonafter4Beers Makes me wonder about the place of books like Lord of the Flies in school curriculums - not just a blanket statement against fascism, but a deliberate cultural counterweight against youth organizations. The greatest danger to the world is children being given the means to collectivize, obviously, not the mentally ill adult predators that are allowed to roam free instead.

@moomin @anime_outdoor @CommonSay I just watched it for the first time a couple of days ago. There are a couple of points of half-hearted sympathy like when a character encounters some half-century old Nazi corpses and is like "we should leave their medals, their accomplishments belong to them" and the way that the actual WW2 era Nazis are portrayed as dutiful and honorbound in a flashback. It's all pretty fleeting and doesn't go anywhere though.The most frustrating part of a slantess carrying two pistols and no gear mowing down a boat full of at least a hundred armed NS men is the fact that one of them literally points a golden luger directly at her head but is too busy monologuing about his ideals to shoot her, and then he dies. So goofy and gratuitous it's hard not to call propaganda. Real shame that it's so early on in the series too, the first multi-episode arc is basically Wolfenstein-tier.

@Cornelius That would only surprise me if you were Christian. I do other things to help me reflect, like journaling, but praying is easiest. It's a good anchor to have if you find yourself facing a lot of challenges.
