The only reason why they can afford to try, is because importing electronics to Brazil is up to 50% more expensive than building them locally, because of taxes. I do have some interest on the Lite model, might work for light and retro gaming on a budget.

Most entertainment is produced in abusive environments, promotes positively evil people to become famous, and twists the legal system through in such a way that it enables surveillance and erodes ownership rights. But barely anyone is willing to boycott it.

@rysiek When you say:But show us a centralized, end-to-end encrypted Signal alternative that is not backed by venture capital, blockchain, the Saudi royal family, or all three, and we'll sell you the Brooklyn Bridge....I remember that XMPP is technically neither of the three - is the reason not to recommend it that end-to-end encryption is an extension for XMPP (OMEMO if I recall correctly), and doesn't come enforced by default by the protocol?
