Like, when Superman or Cyclops use their rays on someone, they just kind of lose hit points, and when Homelander uses his laser vision..." I'm trying to think of a way to put this so he doesn't have nightmares. "...he might burn off part of their arm. Anyway, good night, sleep tight!" I have to kill the conversation before we get to the supe with the giant prehensile penis, or The Deep fucking an octopus, or Homelander forcing The Deep to eat same said octopus, or Homelander's son burning Stormfront's face off.Anyway, great show. Great kid. Hopefully they won't meet for like seven years.

@grips One thing which more or less works for me is having a glass of water between drinks. This takes me from 3 or 4 drinks in a night to 1 or 2.It also helps stave off kidney stones.

Stolen from a FB friend because he didn't post it on the Fediverse (hi E!): So here's a thing I didn't know until very recently, and I'm going tell you so that you'll know it too if you ever need to:Let's say you have a thing made of plastic, and it's the sort of broken that normally necessitates throwing it away: for example, this office chair that was built with a plastic base for holding the casters, which cracked, causing the wheels to fall out whenever you tried to sit on it. It turns out you might be able to fix such a thing by packing in some baking soda where you wish there had been more plastic, and then adding a couple of drops of superglue. It undergoes an almost immediate chemical reaction and turns into a hard solid mass and then you have a chair again.

@ai @hidden There's a line about Austen, something like, "You turn the page to see what happens next, and nothing much does, then you turn the page again." (search engines failed me when I tried to look up the exact quote)I read P&P and Emma, and they're not my cup of tea, but she has an excellent 4-D map of her characters' relationships, and some wit when she feels like deploying it.
