@hierarchon Well, that's what happens when you give a seventeenth century French aristocrat a robot transformation.

@amic Advanced sysadmins start learning other languages, just so they can swear at the computer in the native language of whoever developed the stupid piece of crap software they're trying to get working.

Yay, I've got the Mastodon API working. Now I can do terrible things with it. Like write a bot which changes the color of my bedroom lights based on toots.

@hierarchon I've taken to assuming that the games in most of those shows are, in fact, evolved from AI Dungeon, and thus there's no meaningful way to have a wiki, because a neural network is making the whole thing up on the fly. it would certainly explain some of the design decisions in Bofuri, for example.

@foone that makes me A) want to bodge together a floppy drive which works like that, and B) see what the newest tech is that you could do that with in a game, before it starts impacting player count. A VHS cassette with the write protect tabs inserted first? A DVD with the label down? An SD card with the contacts sticking out? A thumb drive just haphazardly held up against the USB port, without plugging it in?

@foone To be fair, it may have just been someone who wanted to make sure it would be easier to keep them on the payroll than sack them.
