I saw an advertising banner in the city today, mentioning a new software company.Cool, I thought, a possible future employer!I get home, check out their website. First word I see, in the page title, even before the page has loaded: AI 💀I guess it will be more and more difficult to find a decent employer in the future.

I'm thinking of hosting my own fedi instance.I have the cheapest possible VPS and I don't have much money to spend on additional resources.I heard Mastodon is heavyweight.GoToSocial and Snac2 seem to be lightweight, but if I would feel the need to contribute to them I wouldn't want to, because one is in Google's language (which I don't want to invest time in to learn) and the other is under a weak license. Same for Misskey (microsoft's TypeScript).Also, my VPS is running #YunoHost so I'm a bit limited by what is already packaged.So I might go for #Pleroma.#SelfHosting

I just found out that @protonprivacy has launched an "AI" chatbot 💩 so now I'm considering moving away from their services and finding a better VPN provider.Unfortunately my subscription is paid for another 6 months.#Proton #AI #Lumo

@tuxicomanI was thinking, my location and other data about me could be tracked in a way based on the edits that I do for Osm (mostly from StreetComplete). Maybe traffic info contributions would be more or less the same.

@hyde I don't have a LinkedIn account, so no.On the one hand, I do find it challenging to find a good job. On the other hand, I doubt it would help. And I'm not sure I want (yet another) job in a company that uses LinkedIn.
