I want to show you that that Internet you used to go exploring is still very much there. There are still tons of small personal websites, and a wealth of long form text from both the past and the present. So it's a search engine. It's perhaps not the greatest at finding what you already knew was there, instead it is designed to help you find some things you didn't even know you were looking for.https://search.marginalia.nu/explore/random

Ooooooh. Musk wants a court to say gpt 4 is a person.Emancipated Mink is suing OpenAI, on the basis that OpenAI was permitted to license sub-AGI models to people for money, but GPT 4 is (supposedly) “better at reasoning than average humans“ quote the Elongated Muskrat. Therefore breach of implicit contract etc etcBut there’s not a huge angle here re shutting down OpenAI, but think of the publicity!

“Completed” my first Tildagon @badge hexpansion! There are a … few … errata, but none that can’t be hidden in the bokeh and the sun’s hair lights up as it should!

please no advice on soldering lamo I’m working with a maplin spec iron and I got as many of the footprints right as you’d expect for a PCB that went from idea to JLC in a single train trip (most, but not all)!

Tom Francis (of gunpoint, tactical breach wizards, etc) has a really neat idea about information games - which he uses to mean gameplay elements where understanding the story allows you to make progress, and how this can produce hugely compelling narrative experiences!I feel like paradise killer is also a partial example, as whilst you really are doing detective work a lot of evidence is gated, and there’s no chance of putting it together until the very end! https://youtube.com/watch?v=IhgBoVCW4yw&si=ubTci2Yy3fiv0Bny

Outer Wilds is _the_ example, but imo that failed for menut for any failing in the game! I think it’s a perfect jewel of discovery. But I had to pause playing due to life events for a month, and the clarity I had over the plot had vanished when I got back; but I knew enough that replaying was wayyyy less interesting, so I didn’t pick it up again!

Feminising HRT is simple to obtain and not overly complex to manage. Spend some time on the mad gender science wiki and Just Do It

@psykon @halcy if a 99% optimal schedule is ok, then you don’t need quantum. And I promise getting to 99% track capacity on rail isn’t limited by scheduling optimality!
