Interesting that Pretti is being venerated nationally despite committing what's probably a cardinal sin to most gun owners (carrying heat in proximity to law enforcement AND inserting yourself between a fed and a protestor). Granted, getting shot dead while you're already on the ground and disarmed looks bad regardless of whether you had a gun or not. Sadly, it doesn't stop the proverbial question from being asked: What did he think was going to happen?

@LukeAlmighty Full free speech? Absolutely yes, even with all of its consequences. I certainly understand why most would attach caveats to it. BUT we tend to be very skittish and short-sighted in doing so, setting the stage for bad actors to poison the well ("Freedom of speech, not freedom from consequence!!!").

@beardalaxy I think the conundrum is that: to teach to do either safely, you'd have to drill basic risk assessment into their heads. While also deprogramming them of the delusions most people take for granted when they think of "civil disobedience". Hard to do that in the current political climate, where simple pragmatism to survive tense situations might be dismissed as "just pick up the can bro".
