to people who think putting no content warnings on news articles and stories with disturbing/unfortunate content because 'it's too important to ignore', consider the following:what if i drew gore and posted it untagged and not behind a cw. that would be really bad, right?this comparison might be crazy but think about it: some of these articles, while containing important information, also may contain really disturbing and/or troubling news. and some of us have bad days! we're not always in the headspace to read heartwrenching stuff! seeing this shoved in our face hurts us, emotionally, when we aren't prepared for it. so please use CWs. you aren't censoring yourself, you're being polite. people will still see and read the stuff you or someone else has to say, in fact ppl will pay more attention to it than if it had no CW, cause they had to click to see it.got it? good. use CWs. please. :blobfoxthumbsup:

@elicin i think, to fediblock someone purely for something like gender, sexuality, race, etc. is unfair, because these aspects of people are not able to be changed, and are not harmful. if i were blocked purely for being non-binary, and/or if being nonbinary was a reason listed to block me, or any other person, then that would be unreasonable, and i'd likely feel hurt and unwelcome. and to add to this, if someone is to cause harm by use of derogatory language regarding someone's gender/sexuality/race, i and some others would also not wish to interact with those people. some people do not feel hurt by others using slurs, but some people are hurt by it. i made my fediblock post for those who do take offense to use of such language, and wish not to see it.
