@lachs0r this is true. perhaps somewhat less noticeable since the proprietary OS is usually already installed.I guess this was my realization that there isn't much catching up FOSS has to do, since proprietary can be just as bad if not worse

@lachs0r speaking of more code. ive lately been really excited about RISC V being a reduced instruction set, as well as microkernel projects like Redox.I think technologies like these could bring some of the complexity down by an order of magnitude, and I hope to see it a general trend of where people moving
