       @grammargirl I have a question I've been meaning to ask you. I pronounce extraordinary as "extrordinary." In the past few years I hear people pronounce it as extra ordinary. To me this means that someone is unusually ordinary. The two pronunciations are incompossible in my brain, because one seems so silly. Why has this started happening? Is it wrong, or am I suddenly wrong? I know language changes, even when it makes me sad.

       @grammargirl @coboldragon I'm fairly certain that I've heard people pronounce it as two words when they really meant extraordinary, as in beyond ordinary. I'll try to find examples, because now I'm curious.
