@futurebird I see many people online primarily for their own type peers BUT most people also like the little posts in their timeline/stream that may be about some event in the news or music or something general topic. So I would have to choose a social media mostly with scientific emphasis but I also want writers and artists of all sorts. And even some legal, political and policy folks. Oh wait, that describes what I have built on my own home stream here on Mastodon.

@futurebird These are used by people who have limited dexterity and disabilities using their arms, hands and fingers. I guarantee they are really hard to use if you are abled.

@futurebird I like your grouping here. I feel same about days of a week.In particular Fridays are bad for our family. You only have up to noon to complete any calls to doctors and clinics because doctors don’t work Fridays at all or leave at noon. So if your business in not finished by noon, you are sitting there stuck until Monday. Bleah.

Lucky dog! Some folks know our Buddy has had a hard go for 3 months now being treated for a yeast infection. I was going to wash the cover of his dog bed and realized he needs a new one, larger. Word—if your dog is at top end of size chart for a medium, get a large. Also see his bumper for his head. This photo taken when literally 15 seconds after the bed was set down, he claimed it. #DogsOfMastodon #MonDog

@RodneyPetersonTalent @aral EviCor IS evil. Made my life hellish for 6 months, 7 ER trips all for denying MRI 3 times for my back. I needed it for referral to orthopedic surgeon. 4th time I finally got it. My copay was $200. The cash price was $400. Couldn’t pay cash if you have insurance.

@smellsofbikes Oooh, we are now up to 10 treaters! It's 7:30 pm here and been dark for an hour and a half. Just now a dad carrying a toddler and his little 4-year-old came up and Dad was excited we had sugar wafer cookies in little packets for little folks and we gave Mom and Dad big candy bars. I swear Dad was as excited as the kids.

@prolrage All this is what I just can’t reconcile at all with “defense”: the horrors and war crimes the IDF commits. Such parallels to atrocities of Hitler and his allies. If anyone had told me back in the 50’s that this is what the State of Israel would become I wouldn’t have believed this possible.

Just about 1/2 hour simmering to go so I added the garlic and basil. Really enjoy cooking this when there’s a caregiver here so not one interruption. Since I have significant ADD, I must focus very hard for hours to get all the additional veggies into the pot on time. #Tomatoes #Veggies #Food

@hannu_ikonen I’ve only know about 3-4 adults my age who ever liked punk but they are out there in their late 60’s and 70’s. I did, but long ago as the Sex Pistols and Ramones started getting popular. Went on to Alternative rock, industrial and yikes, so many trends after. Now that I think of it, I still know very very few people who like any music other than straight country, rock or classical. Musically, I think I have more in common with those young punk fans than most people my age.

@futurebird A friend was a PD disk jockey who told me the music of your teen and early adult years remains the soundtrack of your life for decades later even if you don’t remember the bands and details. When you are very old you may find yourself singing along when you hear the music.

@TAV @futurebird I read about these attempts to use congestion fees and drive more people to public transit. But I keep applying this to our family and can’t see how it could work out if I didn’t drive the car to my son’s medical appointments. That’s a 73 year-old, a 45 year-old son who is a wheelchair user and his caregiver. As it is, if parking is too far away it is a terrible hardship. I just don’t see articles about practical considerations.
