I would also point out that while very uncommon, and not something people should do, attributes may actually not be valid Python identifiersSince this got parsed in a different way in the linked issue, and for future references, @sharlatan, I suppose by not something people should do, @MissingClara meant breaking the spec, which states:Each of the parts delimited by dots and the colon is a valid Python identifier.Cc: @pganssle & @pradyunsg

inb4 big stat bros begin to quote thisBTW @susankayequinn, could you consider posting the text directly instead of the extra image of text? Like soThe exercise of imagination is dangerous to those who profit from the way things are because it has the power to show that the way things are is not permanent, not universal, not necessary.—Ursula K. @susankayequinn, I meant the image of text wasn't necessary at all when you could have posted the more accessible and efficient text post.

you counted this yourself? I haven't such statistics from any serious and reliable sources.@iron_bug, let's take the Google I/O 2021 for 3 billion end-user devices running Google/Linux and 1361 million desktop/laptop computers from Gartner times 2.2% GNU-like/Linux market share from Statcounter.Linux is about servers and embedded hardware, first of all. and that devices much more in number than end-user gadgets. The original post by @terminaltilt was about end-user devices, and so was my comment.Linux is an operating system. the kernel. it does not deal with any SaaS or whatever. it provides HAL for user level software. and user level may be whatever, but this is not "Linux".Agreed, but that's not relevant to my point. To advocate for people to plainly run Linux doesn't involve any recommendation for the userspace, thus most people can follow the advice by the most obvious way of using a Google/Linux device and continue to rent computing power from SaaSS. It would have been a useful suggestion if it was something along the line of run free software instead of proprietary spyware or subscribe to services.

@jessebot, I prefer Guix because I don't like how nixpkgs (not) handles dependencies but bundle them (i.e. be completely unaware of the dependency graph) for newer build systems like npm, cargo and go. I also prefer Guix channels over flake. On the other hand, NixOS has vastly more packages and services. Especially if you're into hosting, the Nix DSL is much more convenient to configure interdependent services across multiple modules.Less importantly, the Nix project has more powerful cache servers so it's faster to pull NixOS upgrade. If you like to live on the bleeding edge, there's no staging branch (with exceptions) for the official Guix channel so updates are available right after patches are applied (nixpk.gs/pr-tracker.html no mas).

@zimoun and @futurile, I think for it to be meaningful we need the total number of contributors too, not just those whose patches were accepted. The number of unanswered tickets on issues.guix.gnu.org does not tell a happy story.

If using LLMs is encouraged when it makes sense, @latenightowl, why wouldn't it work if a worker is angry with all LLMs?
