π£PSA -- Privacy -- Important π£We have removed PIA from our documentation. They are in the process of being purchased by a company with a bad record of harvesting user information.Given the acquisition, we were not comfortable continuing to recommend PIA.IVPN and Mullvad look like reasonable alternatives. However, we will not be updating our documentation for either at this time. We have some good information written in a reasonably generic form at present. For now we need to focus on updating some back end infrastructure as well as updating out Teaefik docs for their v2 release that is not backawards compatible with older configs.Hopefully we will have more updates soon.In the mean time, help is always welcome π

π£PSA -- Download Site π£All,Due to the growing size and chasing a 'moving target' for our Armbian and Raspbian builds we have opted to stop building customized versions. The downloads have been removed from our site. This had everything to do with storage constraints, limited time to chase down build errors that popped up on a frequent basis and trying to maximize our time/value proposition for everyone. Our borg builds will be maintained as borg is very difficult to build from source on arm and they don't have an arm native build [yet].Thank you,-- Lollipop Cloud Team

π£ PSA π£ Just a friendly heads upOver the coming days we're going to be cleaning up some of the docker images in our registry that we are no longer building / maintaining as part of our holiday hacking session. These are lesser used images and ones we haven't built in a looooong time. All of them are available via other means (per our project ethos) so not to worry, there are ways to continue running these long-term if needed.

Our public docker registry is officially cleaned up.There are still some package we are evaluating but overall we're in good shape.Things are still a bit bumpy but our users shouldn't notice much.Watch out for traefik though... we're working on that part after some of this build server stuff is complete.

π£PSA -- Prosody (XMPP) π£We've managed to integrate converse.js (https://conversejs.org/) into our Prosody container for serving up XMPP *and* a really nice Web UI all in one package. We've also included *all* of the prosody modules as part of our builds so you won't have to hunt down prosody modules and slip them into the right spot inside the containers. Our sample config at https://git.lollipopcloud.solutions/lollipop-docker/prosody/src/branch/master/prosody.cfg.lua has configuration information as well as how to get OMEMO working with converse.js as part of the configuration.Happy chatting!c/ @jcbrand

π£ PSA π£ We have begun a bit of an overhaul of our docker registry (it's low on storage space). We've removed a number of containers that can be found on Docker hub and we are working on cleaning up some back end servers. This means our docs need to be updated to point users to the Docker hub instead of our registry for TT-RSS, Postgres, HomeAssistant and NextCloud. That's on our short list once some cleanup is complete. We've also removed the tag browser from our https://docker.lollipopcloud.solutions/ site. We are prepping some tag updates that break the tag view in the web viewer of our registry. Because of the breakage we opted to turn off tag view. This is a necessary first step for some web UI magic we have planned for the future. We also have some doc updates slated over the coming months. We know they are very much out of date but we've been lacking the time to get all the infra updates finished, let alone improved documentation. Help is always welcome for the docs and we will work with anyone who would like to contribute to get updates incorporated into the documentation.

π£ PSA π£ We've managed to get a basic ssb account setup and running. If you're interested we'll be available over there too going forward. We can be found at @6xDQGdQfZAZG5UI6fk7T2TwUwMcUn2rAxPgNevBiimA=.ed25519fCrVYIYXcDBVgQ.png

And we've got oasis ssb client working too!https://git.lollipopcloud.solutions/kemonine/ssb for the curiousIt's a nicer UI than patchfoo but is definitely missing a few features. You'll need ssb-cli (part of the docker file) to manage some pieces/parts of oasis for now but overall... it's a solid option for those intersted in another ssb web ui

We just flipped our main scuttlebutt (ssb) identity over to use oasis (https://github.com/fraction/oasis) instead of patchfoo.Oasis has proven a bit easier to deploy and is a much more polished UI, even if it's lacking a few features here and there. For those interested, @kemonine has some Docker goodies at https://git.lollipopcloud.solutions/kemonine/ssb with good info on how to deploy a number of ssb services and clients.

We are still alive, we promise. Our lead dev @kemonine has been quietly working through back end infrastructure 'stuff' and ensuring our services remain online and our docker images continue to be built. We could use some help with the documentation and traefik configs if anyone is interested. Thanks to limited time KemoNine has been having a hard time spending any real amount of time on documentation.

π£ PSA π£ Our Xeon server box failed today and we've managed to migrate all BUT the bitwarden_rs docker container builds to other places. We will be recommending our users get bitwarden_rs directly from docker hub (per their docs) and use the appropriate arm tags going forward. We don't currently have the available time/overhead to roll out a new machine to replace this one.Instead we are going to shift towards using docker hub for bitwarden_rs, leaving a few behind the scenes services offline and continuing forward on ensuring our docs and other infra is kept current, up to date and as best we can put forth for our users. We will be removing bitwarden_rs from our docker registry shortly to reflect this change.

π£ PSA π£ Scaleway recently sent a notice about the shuttering of their arm vps services which we use[d] heavily. As of a few minutes ago we have finalized the main portion of our migration *off* Scaleway arm vpses onto another provider that's helped us in the past.H/T to the Works on Arm folks ; their hardware saved us a lot of pain the last week or so as we made our migrations.Right now things should be mostly back to normal but we are working out some kinks that have popped up.We have some further infrastructure updates to fine tune but overall we're off Scaleway as of this writing. We also have a TON of documentation updates and a few small website updates that will be published soon.More details to follow.

@mancavgeek @kemonine Spacebear has pixelfed hosting...But yes, it's frustrating ; they really messed up a number of our users and a ton of others by dropping the arm stuff completely

π£ PSA π£ Seems we misjudged our time estimate π **ALL** of our service are all migrated and appear to be working. We have some website updates and doc updates that will be forthcoming to reflect a number of changes we've made as part of the migration (including traefik v2 configs!!!).We are *also* deprecating / removing support for the following- borg backups (we'll be using restic going forward instead)- TT-RSS (the dev turned out to be a jerk, we'll be using FreshRSS going forward instead)- GPG signatures on our source code and website, keeping up with these has proven troublesome on the best of days- Fathom (we'll be bringing it back but we're too far behind to do anything meaninful with it yet)
