@mcdanlj Beyond being Elon, doesn't this harm the whole twitter brand with respect to being an honest broker of what's going on in the world? Please Elon or you will be punished? My best estimate of the long term trajectory of this is twitter devolves entirely into an Elon fanboy site?I check in to twitter from time to time, but now I'm seeing the same posts it showed me days ago, and hardly anything new or interesting? It's hard to pin down exactly what's changed, but I walk in, still don't see much interesting or new or relevant, I walk out. That's my twitter experience for the past month or two.Mastodon is far from perfect. I've picked a lot of random people to follow so I end up with maybe a lot of noise in my feed to pick through (I'm looking at you @dgar !), but it's interesting in different ways and I feel like I'm seeing an honest snapshot of what other people are interested in, not some weird, broken AI algorithm that happily spits out endless nonsense results.Anyway, glad mastodon (and probably others) are hear to pick up the slack. I still like the google+ vision of social media, but oh well....

Visiting family in Saint Paul last night. I took our little dog on a walk between Selby and Summit. Such a cool little neighborhood, perfect evening, lots of other dogs out, all the trees were sprouting leaves, tulips were coming up, green grass, perfect start to May! #Minnesota #Spring

Lol, then I drove back home to Duluth tonight and it's 45 degrees, gusting to 20 mph and there are still snow patches on the ground. Gotta just laugh I guess. 🙂

@SirCandinavian I'm no expert in the weather, but I think we are getting a lot of winds of lake superior right now (and the lake stays pretty close to 40 degrees year round). Then without a lot of warmed up earth to help out, it can cool us off really quickly. But another day the winds will blow from a different direction and it will warm right up.

I have followed a tutorial and created a 3d part in FreeCAD! I could not feed my family with my 3d cad skillz, but maybe someday in the future I'll be able to create a few custom (simple) parts on my own to 3d print for my own little projects here.

@dabeaz This looks like a super fun class! (I know I'm weird/crazy in these areas.) Now I need to imagine a couple paths to explain to my brand new boss why developing a new compiler/language is important for our project.
