This is something I'm proud of - my first 3D movie is finished. Made only with FOSS.It's about the mystery of technology. In 2015 I built a tower out of obsolete broadcast equipment. Now I made a digital version which shows sequences of a movie from 1968 about the first graphics computer ever built. "It allows people to see things which only mathematicians could see before". @kzimmermann regarding handling of mp3 in the link you posted - you can try the codec opus which is free and known for better quality preservation at lower Bitrates. Though I wouldnt recommend reencoding at all. Only if you dont care about quality.

@sneak good luck with running your mac offline then. What you are saying is that critizising technology is stupid and naive because it did good things elsewhere. @fatboy the best I get with a pihole and dns filtering is 74%. I'm not sure whether DNS filtering only is the best technique if you want do catch all. I guess a Browser addon can do more things than just blocking based in URLs, but not totally sure about that.

@pyre35 I looked for something similar for a long time, in the end this was the only reason to keep my mac - with proprietary software Capture One - which at least is not a subscription model, but has the same elegance and functions as Lightroom.

I‘m currently working on building an ultra low power webserver with a ESP32 S2 microcontroller and sustainable super capacitors as energy storage for the solar cell. This will be hosting my website and won‘t have any parts that go bad anytime soon. I plan it as minimal and as long lasting as possible. Still some work to do on the power side but the webserver is already working (no https yet though) and I‘m currently thinking hard about it‘s 3D printed case.

Here is an update on my microwebserver project: I made a prototype of the casing. It's 3D printed for now, but I'm thinking to go for a milled wood casing in the future. I've also managed to simplify the power system. Every mAh is desperately needed. I'm also thinking that it might develop into a good example for #permacomputing as it will tick some boxes about longevity and minimalism. I'm asking myself: What does it need to work and be useful for the next 50 to 100 years?
