@kuketzblog Transparenz fehlt nicht nur bei Quellcode. Die App wird nicht mit öffentlichen Geldern finanziert, soll aber für Nutzer und Betreiber kostenlos sein. Gleichzeitig stellt sie das Startup als "Produkt" dar. Was total offen bleibt: Wie sieht Finanzierung der APP und die Monetarisierung des Produkts aus?Dazu gibt es weder Öffentlichkeit einsehbar noch auf Nachfrage Informationen.

@w4tsn So lange Wohlstand in einer Gesellschaft nicht annähernd gleich verteilt ist sind spenden auch kein demokratisches Mittel. Die Familie Quandt spendet aus der Porto Kasse mehr an die #NieMehrCDU als alle Kleinspender von @digitalcourage und @netzpolitik zusammen. Und das setzen die natürlich auch von der Steuer ab. Ich würde also eher behaupten, Spenden sind ein staatlich gefördertes Mittel zur Unterminierung der Demokratie.

@BrodieOnLinux it still has it's issues creating a healthy community, so even though it might be a more "attractive" product, if you need support, which is something most users eventually do, and you want to be treated decently by the community, better stick with #Sway.

@BrodieOnLinux @danb FWIW I believe that the term Open Source has been watered down enough for us to stop using it when we actually mean FOSS. The F (free as in freedom) is the important part after all and the hardest to convey when its implicitly included in the Open Source definition.
