@srinicame I really hate it when there are fonts where you cannot differentiate between o and 0, O and 0, i and l (i and lowercase L) I and l (capital I and Lowercase L). Literally drives me insane.

@lynnesbian Though I have seen you around the fediverse, we haven't had the opportunity to chat before. I hope this serves as a good introduction. Free speech isn't a community guideline. It is codified in the supreme law of the land, the United States Constitution. A person should have as much free speech as is legally allowed, and naturally not all speech falls under the purview of "protected speech". This was not always the case. #1 of a few posts.

@lynnesbian The First Amendment of the United States Constitution clearly states: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances. There is zero ambiguity there. Full stop. The above is why an absolutist argument exists. #2 of a few

@lynnesbian Supreme Court Justices, let alone mere mortals, fought over the "absolutist position" Justice Black's Konigsberg dissent is a powerful read, laying out a pretty profound argument. The fact that racists want to leverage and pervert a valid position doesn't shock me. What bothers me is that people cannot control themselves enough for laws of curtailment not to exist in the first place. Free speech means different things in different countries though. Final post.

@Gina "Despite progress in closing the equality gap, 91% of men and 86% of women hold at least one bias against women in relation to politics, economics, education, violence or reproductive rights." 86 percent of women... Jeez that's definitely not helping things along.

@Gina *shrug*. 86 percent of women would agree with the 91 percent of men according to the article. *smirk*. The wording of that article is bullshit. That being said, I think we can settle this with a good old fashioned wrestle. Challenge made.
