@misty @Foxhack I can't tell who's joking here. I will simply quote Wikipedia answers instead, in that Blu-ray was released 17 years ago, and that the HD remaster of Total Recall came out 11 years ago. I do not care at the moment to research whether a 4K remaster was released any time after that.

@xerz I’m having to use 4.0 nightlies on Linux, because the HIP acceleration is broken for some projects on gfx1031 (6700 XT) causing the app to just crash as it begins the actual render. Still waiting for HIPrt support to even materialize for me on Linux, to see if it actually functions. It simply crashed on Windows.

At least for general purpose computing. They're probably not really meant to actually be used for desktop replacements.I felt like recommending some Rockchip thing years ago, but even now, it's still only supported by a proprietary Linux kernel driver, and it's only available for a specific kernel version. And they didn't pick an LTS kernel for their base, they picked a sorely outdated non-LTS version.I guess everything sucks?

@mavica_again That's particularly arse too. But that's probably because they're using HDMI to composite converters with fixed resolutions. And of course, god forbid they support 4:3 resolutions with a tech that only had 16:9 stretching bolted on late in its life.

FYI, I specifically meant the reset cases required for kexec, or for mapping a GPU into a VM and back again. This does not apply to user space GPU hang recovery. Sorry if I implied that.
