@silverpill @s_ol> But it should work everywhere if we make the public part top level and post subscriber-only content as a reply. That would work nicely in most front-ends if the topnlevel post is a headline and preface. For subscribers it would give them enough to see whether it not they wanted to read the article and for non-subscibers it would act as a 'teaser'.

@silverpill I'm going to answer in a couple of messages. Firstly from my account on socialhome.network if I search for myself on Mitra or for you the user is not found. However if I search for a friend on Mastodon as soon as I enter the name I see his profile page with a '+' to follow.

@silverpill secondly, I can successfully search for and follow the socialhome user from my Mitra instances. However I don't see anything I publish on socialhome, even if it has an explicit mention.Similarly if I mention my socialhome user in Mitra I don't see the post in socialhome.

@silverpill @Monad @b0y @NGIZero @cjdAs a novice observer that appears to me the main downside of ActivityPub, there are multiple incompatible ways of doing the same thing. Very often it seems to be the Mastodon way and the FEP (everyone else's) way.

@silverpill I have found what I think is probably a bug, in Mitra but one of virtually no consequence. I thought you would like to know even if you decide not to fix itI have been playing with Writefreely and the user name is the same as that of my Mitra instance apart from with a different subdomain :chris@mitra.northumbria.meChris@writefreely.northumbria.meThe post is flagged as mentioning me, even though it doesn't. I suspect this is something to do with matching the username and will effect hardly anyone and not be important for anyone who is effected.#Mitra #Bug

@silverpill @kidz @duyOh, I'm sure that there must be a reason that embedded images are not displayed, but that's another thing if like.

@OhOkKay@silverpill should this display on Mitra? I can see a poll from Mastodon.RE: https://beige.party/users/OhOkKay/statuses/114685852829260075

@silverpill @adizWhat if we allow drag-n-dropping images from there to the post editor? That would make image reuse a bit easier.I'd vote for that ability!

@silverpill @ozoramore_dev I confirmed this with a screenshot, but the combination of my eyesight and phone screen doesn't make it obvious or indeed discernable in ordinary reading. Is this an accessibility issue or the same for everyone?#Mitra #Accessibility

@christianp Maybe as a Rust expert @silverpill can confirm this, but from what I've heard Rust is not for "quick" jobs. It believe it has an unusual memory allocation paradigm which, like everything in Rust, is strictly compiler enforced so that when your not so quickly written code compiles it is likely to be big free and robust.Anyway don't you mathematicians have plenty of domain specific languages already‽

@ChrisMayLA6 On the BBC news they also said that quite a lot of "drop outs" decided to continue working at a placement, and epending on your point of view getting someone a position in the industry they were interested in it not really a complete failure.
