Getting to grips with my new #Nikon #Z6II… this was taken with the Z24-120 f4, handheld, @ 120mm and f9. The focus plane is a little too thin, should have chosen a smaller aperture or tried focus-stacking but who can be bothered with the tripod….

Wait, so #ElonMusk has been sued for $258 Billion for manipulating the #DogeCoin price with his tweets, tries to convince the court to dismiss the claim saying his jokes have no influence, but drives the #Doge price up 25 percent by changing the #Twitter logo into the Doge logo, and so creating live evidence of his ability to move the price with his weird antics? Sounds like an odd legal defense strategy to me but I am sure his lawyers have thought that through…

Just read that a flagship non-Mastodon instance blocked at least one major server (the biggest UK #Mastodon instance) preventing their users interacting and exchanging with each other. Not sure how this walled bubble approach fits in with the enthusiastic attempts to place such instance as some kind of mainstream alternative to #Mastodon. I am off for good, I like to make my own decisions on a server with mature and non-arbitrary admin policies. @fediversenews

This defederation and blocking mania (have a look at the blocking list of some instances) is a risk for the #fediverse and I also believe it is conceptionally questionable, at least if you run some kind of flagship topical or geographical instance. Do what you want on a small community server but if you serve a huge community on a leading instance you need to deploy appropriate, proportionate, non-arbitrary moderation principles. @fediversenews

I am really baffled- suddenly my #Friendica site elsica.social site didn't show any contents anymore, just some menus, then I rebooted the server and now it says Internal Server Error. I am very close to give upon it, can't deal with erratic behavior for no reason... I don't even have a clue where to start looking for the problem, as there was no known trigger for this problem, whatsoever, probably some external event, I don't know... any hints appreciated. @helpers @admins

@helpers @admins Still have no clue what could’ve happened as I didn’t do any changes on the server or site. I could of course re-install from backup but without knowing the root course for this mess, I have little drive to do so… Will try to find out more today but currently inclined just to shut it down for good, there are no active users on it and I can’t imagine what would’ve happened if there where hundreds of active users (rightly) demanding to fix this.

@PhilipKing @helpers @admins It may have well been a config error on my side, that just materialized into a problem very late, don't know but it is weird. Generally, I agree that only Mastodon is developed, tested and maintained to professional standards, not a criticism to volunteer projects such as firefish or friendica but it is something to consider when choosing their software.
