       @arstechnica so… bad software written by Microsoft instead of bad software written by other companies. Progress?Here’s a thought - open source it and let the people who care about it make it better

       @fsf you’ll be getting an email from me in a year or two. I mailed you in 1996 thanking you for everything you do. Then replied to your thank you email in 2006 to say you were still making a difference. Then again in 2016. 2026 isn’t far off :)

       @lednabwm whoops, no it isn’t. Those aren’t the words of Christ but the words of Paul, written 30 years after Christ’s death. That quote has been changed to read “me” instead of “Christ”.I’m no fan of right-wing Christianity (or, in fact, ANY Christianity) but presenting false evidence gives the fascists a nice easy straw man to hang their argument on.

       @lednabwm @the5thColumnist <shrug > I spent the first 15 years of my life in a cult and several decades after that trying to deprogramme so I have a better than average understanding of how Christians work. You do you - all I was trying to do is point out that you’ll never be able to score points against them by using misquoted scriptures because I guarantee they know them better than you do.

       @futurebird one of the problems with politics is that only those with an interest get involved. The original democratic model of Plato, with election by lottery and fixed terms (meaning you had to live with the effects of your term) while not perfect (only men, only landowners etc) was a lot closer to a workable system.
