@element the goal of having an in-country representative by many oppressive regimes, but lately also in the EU, is that they have a 'hangman' to throw in jail or extort you with, should you not co-operate with their wishes and demands.

@thenewoil how convenient and what a boon, being able to suddenly sell so many new devices - I am sure the shareholders are jumping for joy. At the same time what an environmental disaster, having to scrap so many electronic devices. 🤦 I would think twice about buying another #Baracuda Device

@Possiblydrew the 'feature' should be disabled by default, on opt-in basis. The first thing I will do this morning is disable it. What a nightmare @protonprivacy ! The only thing stopping me moving to @Tutanota, is that their encryption does not support PGP. I encourage everyone else to vote, by login and disabling it quickly. #Protonmail

@MHowell obviously Proton has converted a lot of users from Gmail, who do not see this as privacy-invasive, or do not have the acumen to understand the ramification. 🤦. It definitely should be on opt-in basis and disabled by default.
