@jb Oh, a friend sent this to me yesterday.This makes a ridiculous amount of sense when you actually see the breakdown of what majors black people tend to take (we'll assume - badly - that black men/women have similar breakdowns, as I couldn't find the breakdown for black women only).Most of these majors can *only* be employed by the government in a meaningful fashion. Even in CS and CIS, there's sizeable government competition for low-level talent with industry.This observation is presented largely without much comment. There's too many reasonable models of the world that this observation fits for me to pick one and say "that one is right," but it does shut down the potential thought one might have that industry is just refusing to hire black engineers or something.Top-College-Degrees-for-African-Americans-25-to-40.png

@judgedread So true.The only way you can peacefully get a group of people who agree with everything you say is to go away from everyone who disagrees with you. If you create a big glass wall between yourself and everyone who thinks differently from you, then you'll get a nice big room full of people who don't have opinions that disagree with yours.Of course, everyone from outside that glass room can still see you and make fun of you when you're wrong, but you will certainly have your consensus within your glass room.

@PNS @hachi With the exception of "swapping two quarters of the bracket" that bracket is *almost* just a straight 32-player bracket seeded with the most nominations being the top seed. :cirnoShrug: I made exactly one swap other than that to prevent a disaster-case final.

@Morghur @ArtContest This is what it came out to so far. There are about 3 days left in the year so it's possible that the US will commit 9/11 again, but outside of that or some extreme military disaster there is no path forward for a bingo.This in some sense means that I designed the card well, because I intended it to bingo if and only if the US had completely and totally collapsed. This has clearly not happened, and the card has not bingoed.image.png
