@ColinTheMathmo What file system on that drive? If it's an ext* fs, could it be a combo of reserved blocks and fs overhead? The total blocks is definitely raw blocks, not what's available to the fs, just checking on a drive that I have and adding the used/avail up.

Anyone in Melbourne interested in this old iPAQ 3630? Touchscreen doesn't work, not got the original stylus, has the protective sled & the battery/CF card sled, leather case, & 2 cradles (Serial & USB). No power supply (cable from old PSU takes 5VDC) and both batteries (in unit and in sled) are dead. Unit powers up on external 5VDC supply.If no takers, going in the bin.

@kzimmermann Are you holding the Fn key down when you press the function keys? That may or may not be necessary (based on various laptop experiences in general). Also are you using the built in keyboard or an external? I suspect it'll only work with the built-in.

@kzimmermann Also apparently if you've got Win10 on there, and it's UEFI BIOS, you can use the Windows Troubleshooting options to get into the UEFI Settings (aka BIOS). See this link (which is for Thinkpads, but the Win10 bits are the same): https://support.lenovo.com/mx/en/solutions/ht500222-recommended-ways-to-enter-bios-boot-menu-thinkpad-thinkcentre-thinkstation

@kzimmermann If the Win10 method gets you in to the UEFI BIOS, the first thing I'd be looking for is a way to enable getting in via function keys at boot (cos it sounds like it's disabled), and testing that before you put Linux on it, just in case.

@EdS Another thing (but general to Aust as well), The plugs are different. No fuse in the plugs here, but everything is 240V 50 Hz like in the UK. Anything with a IEC/Kettle socket or Figure 8 socket on it will most likely work with a new cable.

@EdS If they like coffee, Melbourne is definitely going to be a change for the better. Also, our tap water is "pretty damn good", so if they've been living in London, they'll notice it tastes a lot more like Scottish bottled water (ie: no lime/chalk taste).

@EdS Food. We've got quite diverse restaurants and food, tho you might need to look specially for some of it or UK favourites. In supermarkets, beef is much more common (no mad cow here), though lamb and chicken are still big on the menu. Kangaroo is becoming more common, while venison and wallaby are less common but starting to appear. As usual, there will be brands that look the same but are quite different.
