@TechConnectify Understandable, especially when you start bringing up topics like *gasp* NOT cooking with fire!FWIW though, I'm on team "fire-is-best" though completely acknowledge that, especially when inside a confined space, burning anything is not ideal for one's health.

@Venn I'm just lurking in your twitch whatever-its-called, but I saw your post here, so +1 for Mastodon!

@boilingsteam Lately #ASUS can't even get their mainboards right, something they've been designing+manufacturing for decades. Are folks expecting a more expensive device with a less performant OS to succeed simply due to name recognition?(Looks at #Apple devices) oh.....

@killyourfm oooh, that's a hard one. Generally cursors in games are assets in the game files and it's up to the developer to support variable sizes. One idea I have, try to decrease the resolution of the game to see if that makes a difference. As a sidenote... retro? _RETRO_? Torchlight 2 only came out a few.... holy hell 11 years ago... I'm old.

@killyourfm Microsoft: "We're going to integrate ML into our public search engine, then upload all users' private content, tax returns, and homemade "movies" into that same ML system"Yup, wonderful idea. This _definitely_ won't go sideways immediately after roll-out.

@killyourfm My concern is less of your personal data will end up on bing, (though that's certainly a possibility), but more of juice for the ML which will get saved in their database, potentially leading to data leaks.ie: "How much did so-and-so pay in taxes in 2021?"For a system that is supposed to be adaptive and responsive based on learned data, this poses difficulties in data management, and part of the reason that my employer (smartly for once), disallows any ML/AI of our internal data.

@BrodieOnLinux Windows 12, ships running on Linux Kernel 8.3. :Paka"Our OS and NT are too heavy for us to run efficiently in a virtualized/hypervisor environment without wasting gigs of vRAM" - a surprise to no Linux sysadmin worth their salt.

@lamp I remember having a similar issue, I think I got around it by grabbing a screenshot app which had a timer in it, set the delay to 3 seconds or something and opened the dialog box.

@BeAware @Larvitz In short, each key is in 2 parts; the public and the private.I (as a third party), can take your public key and use it to encrypt a message that only the matching private key can reveal. You can also use multiple public keys to encrypt a message, so you can chat with multiple recipients at once.Signing works on a similar premise, where you can sign a plain text message with your private key, and me (again as a third party), can use your public key to verify the plain text message was not altered. The main unfortunate part is access to the private key; email clients like Thunderbird support it natively and transparently, (sending/receiving encrypted messages "just works"), but Mastodon being a web application, doesn't have access to your private key, so a desktop app would be required (or a browser plugin would be needed).

@BeAware @Larvitz Oh yeah, when I encrypted that message to Larvitz, I just entered their email as the recipient.Unfortunately I'm not aware of any desktop clients for Mastodon which have native support for this, but that would be an amazing feature for one!

Anyone know what the hell's going on with the instance fediblock.lol; is the operator just trying to build a list of all users that block spam?It appears to be just a single user instance with a rotating set of users which pump out useless spam, then a bot displays which users have reported / blocked it.Oddly enough it doesn't support domain-level blocks, so blacklisting that entire domain, (which appears to be the route to go), seems to be efficient.Domain registered in December of 2024 via Porkbun and appears to be operating on a virtual machine at an anexia.com datacenter.I dunno, seems like a waste of someone's time to set up something like that.#FediBlock #MastoAdmin
