6 months ago I would have said hashrate growth upper boundary constraint was foundry capacity, now it looks like it's going to be miners ability to stay plugged in (regulatory stability, energy pricing, contract terms).

As ASICs are increasingly considered more "commodity production infrastructure" and less "computers" we should see days-to-ROI continue to increase on the long run.Think more like 10+ years to ROI someday as the industry matures.Great insight, @XBTJames ---RT @XBTJamesASIC pricing, measuring in USD-per-TH, has been coming off materially since late-2021, but pricing measured in static days-to-ROI (ASIC USD price-per-TH / USD daily re…https://twitter.com/XBTJames/status/1530226172185006080

Really excited for the 2 million GPUs to flood the market after the Merge. Those GPUs will then start consuming energy for GOOD, ETHICAL reasons like rendering polygons instead of running Ethash, thus saving the environment.

Seems like there's a ton of funds who raised for "Blockchain" and discovered they best deployed capital into Bitcoin mining but now have Blockchain stuck in their name.

I can not stress this enough: Ethereum used nowhere close to "0.2%" of the world's energy. This number is off by an order of magnitude *at least*.

Been through a lot of capitulation cycles. Yes it's good for the network that miners go bankrupt, just don't dance. Some of the best miners today barely kept their heads above water in 2018, there's a fine line between making it and breaking it.

Running a full node looks like it's coming up on 500gb, which is a pretty common drive size, so lots of plebs should probably check on their umbrel/myNode/etc
