@sir preparing a pot of tea. It takes time boiling the water and steeping the tea and, as an added bonus, you get a nice cup of tea out of it.

@sir for those of us who'd like to support continued work on this, is https://drewdevault.com/donate/ the best place to do so? If so, should it be added to the list there?

@sir There are loads of hosting options for projects that don't fall under an approved OSI/FSF/CC licence. A forge with a policy of open sharing of code and content under terms that guarantee freedoms and filters out questionable licences? Yes please.

@sir vimwiki. I keep a tasks page for ongoing work and document short-term goals using the diary. In the end I just don’t trust much other than plain text, and as a bonus, I can use grep and all the usual command-line suspects. It’s far from perfect, but works.

@zethra @gcupc @sir my main takeaway is how do we as a community prevent Gemini from falling into the same trap as the web? It too was originally designed for content delivery, not as a horribly-bloated terrible app runtime/OS abstraction layer.Full disclosure, I work Flutter, though on the C/C++ runtime and embedded Linux, not on the port for web -- partly because I'm not a web dev, but mainly because I don't believe in the web as an app runtime regardless of toolkit.
