       @noim isn't it possible to just compile/install it with `cargo install deno`?

       #TIL that #StockholmSyndrome was invented by #police and a bad psychologist to discredit a female hostage who didn't trust the cops after they did nothing to protect the captive employees during a bank heist.Her "crime" was trying to negotiate with the criminals to protect her own life, while the police and the state preferred having dead hostages over closing any deal with the thieves.https://www.stadafa.com/2020/12/stockholm-syndrome-discredit.html#sexism #psychology #badscience #ACAB

       @tante Even if the surveillance economy was born out of capitalism, it is a distinct phenomenon on its own. It can survive the capitalist framework, and be "functional" under many other economic systems.It could also have not happened at all (its existence depends on a long list of science, tech and social "innovations" that are not directly tied to the economic system; and some of them were even created _against_ it!), while capitalism continued fucking us all in very distinct ways.

       @HeavenlyPossum @marjolica @djvdq To reinforce your point, those voters would represent much less than this 8% you mentioned.Out of 449,124 people, around 101,801 have died (using an expectancy life of 75 years, and the time that has passed since then: 17 years).This leaves us with 347,323 people, which is around 6.43%.Granted, many today would still vote for them, but it's unfair to say anything about their preferences since they hadn't the opportunity to manifest them.

       @daniel Is it a new rule? or has it always been like that? (honestly curious, I never published anything there)

       @simon I was using the paid version for some time (GPT4), but at some point the results' quality declined abruptly. Then I stopped paying.I suspect that introducing tons of new safety measures has crippled its ability to "reason" at the level it had to be to be useful for my use cases (for example, it because too "polite & respectful" when I asked him to criticise my texts; and I even witnessed how GPT4 became "crazy" generating gibberish when I presented a technical text with code in it)

       @simon I know it's super-pedantic to say this, but I think we should stop saying AI until we have one of them for real. As of today, they are "just" LLMs with some small extras.I'm writing this only because there's a lot of people who read you, so it's fair to say that you have some influence.

       @georgetakei An interesting point that many people overlook are the time scales at which these kind of connected events happen.Tons of people disregard the warning messages that some other informed people publish because "nothing happened yet" during the much smaller scales of weeks or months... while it usually takes years for these disasters to unfold and manifest at their highest.
