@gdr most nights when it is visible it’s bursts of light and very little. On big nights it’s very bright fast moving nights with periods of more glowing.

This is a video of Sun night's aurora is shown in normal speed. I was able to make out the reds with my naked eyes which is very rare, especially given a half moon was out and I was just on the outskirts of town. What an amazing experience to lift my spirits! Please enjoy!#Alaska #NorthernLights

@RubenLar Nice! Shot in Anchorage, Alaska. We often have a cloud problem too, like tonight. Feb-Mar are generally more clear skies here than Sept to Jan. They were shot at 20mm F2.0 1.6 seconds ISO800

I'm still playing with all my souvenir photos from the big aurora night. This is almost 2 hours of star trails combined with 2 seconds of the aurora. My camera was pointed a little south of straight up.

The clouds were going in every direction this evening. This is 9 minutes of time looking towards where Turnagain Arm meets Cook Inlet. The sun went down about 30 minutes prior.

Hello #mastodon. My #introduction.#Photography is my passion, especially of #Alaska landscapes and scenes. The merger of #art and #science is where I like to be the most. Protecting our planet and using its recourses wisely are also important to me. I'm looking forward to the conversation and education.
