Would kde neon or kubuntu work with a 1.6gz dual core? I have plenty of ram (8gb) just wondering about the processor...

For those of you who run a laptop and desktop, do you run the same distro on each, or change it up? If so, why?

Kind of wish there wasnt that encryption install problem on the new lubuntu... I would be all over it if I could manage to encrypt my hard drive

@mattI tried that yesterday with stock ubuntu. It was remarkably slower than just installing lubuntu for some reason. Lubuntu works great on the desktop that I want it on. I'm just impatient. I guess I'll just wait until the problem is fixed

@mattI just got back from visiting my family in Australia and to be honest I would say 90 percent of people didnt know about this law. I was worried going through the airport that I was going to be arrested and searched because I have a phone with apps like protonmail, signal etc. And my computers hard drive is encrypted.I have nothing to hide and would have granted access if asked but just having encryption on my phone and computer gives them probable cause to detain and interrogate@hund

@matt @hundAnd this was before the law passed. Also, Im just going to say it. Canada isnt that great either and this will eventually happen here too. I find a lot of Americans glamorize Canada because of their dislike of Trump. But the grass is definately not greener on the other side of the boarder.

@matt @hundAnd as much as I love the US, I think its government has done a pretty sufficient job in trampling the rights of its people.Unfortunately there is no such thing as true freedom in this world

@mattI hear you about the mindset. However I chose to weigh whether my personal privacy trumps being detained for a period of time especially when I have a wife and 3 kids that rely on me.And as an australian citizen they can still detain you without a warrant@hund
