@mngrif the main reason I switched to Arch on my Laptop and soon my desktop is so I can run the latest packages.I was getting frustrated at Debian's old packages, some 2+ years old. Just take a look at the Arduino package in Debian. It baffles me why its so out-dated 🤔 https://pkgs.org/download/arduinoHowever I use Debian stable on my server and dedicated devices which require stability. @amolith

@amolith I actually like the UI. I tried to set it up a while back but came unstuck near the end of the setup. I personally reckon #CryptPad would be better if I could install specific services, rather than the whole integrated package. I would much prefer just to have the writer and spreadsheet.

@amolith I listen to most podcasts and even YouTube videos at 1.8x speed. I'm now used to people talking fast. As @kelbot noted, it's weird listening to audio at normal speed. People seem to be talking in slow-mo :blob_laughing:btw I subscribe to 12 podcasts.

Really enjoying having Wikipedia, etc available while offline. :blobhappy: I highly recommend downloading Wikipedia for offline use and then serving it locally via #Kiwixhttps://www.kiwix.org/en/downloads/kiwix-serve/

I have gone against the trend and created a new #website that hosts my new #blog and #git repositories :blobwink: The website is a practical experiment in running #Arch Linux :archlinux: as the server and running only static content :blob_dizzy_face:That means, no:- Tracking, logging- Advertising- Cookies- Javascript, Node, ...- PHP- Python- #Docker- #Cloudflare- CDNs- #Amazon, #Microsoft, #Apple, #Facebookhttps://caltlg.in

@amolith thinking about it. Gitea is relatively easy to deploy since its only a single binary. Although you can't beat how easy it is to deploy PrivateBin or RSS -Bridge.

@amolith I am amazed at the amount of services you have setup. I tend to shy away from the more complicated to setup self hosted services.

Quick tip 💡For local bash scripting where you require your current IP address you can pass the following command via ssh to your VPS.ssh user@1.2.3.4 'echo ${SSH_CLIENT%% *}'Nice and easy, plus it avoids using an online API :blobderpy:
