Milky Way at Wooroonook. I made the most of the clear and dark sky on Tuesday to go out and try snap the setting Milky Way at around midnight. Sadly it was pretty windy, so lots of waves and thus no sky reflections in the water.This is a single 30 second exposure. You can see a few starlink trails low on the left and a tumbling piece of other junk in the scorpions tail. The bright star on the left is alpha Centauri.#astrodon #astrophotography #astronomy #space

Whilst I was inside, sipping ginger beer and whiskey last night, the big boy camera was taking a time lapse of the astro camera doing some imaging.And then the temperature dropped and dew ruined the end (This is the problem with giant lenses and not enough dew heaters)#Astrodon #astrophotography

Well I don’t know what the “meridian flip” brouhaha is all about. The camera stopped imaging two minutes before, the mount waited, then did a 180, re-centered the target and started imaging again. I think I like my new toy.
