It looks like a trickle of TERFs are coming in on larger UK servers that are not yet blocking them, presumably for legal reasons. Raising hashtag #TERFblock for visibility so folks can block them. @realcaseyrollins @rodhilton I had the same question. "based on GDPR regulations data can only be retained for 30 days after [scenario that didn't apply to Trump]".....so b/c that scenario didn't apply, data would have been retained and thus restored.

@llebrun There needs to be more visibility - so that ppl can make an easier choice in selecting servers. Like a yelp rating for servers in terms of moderation and stability etc.

@llebrun Maybe in interim users who have felt themselves discriminated against can post using hashtag # AdminAlert and share screenshots. Granted this is extra labor for victims, but given the decentralized nature of open-source Mastodon the more data ppl have to make a decision on how best to self-sort it will be good. Will also shine a light so rogue admins can clean up their act when they are in the wrong or risk their server being defederated by servers that don't abide by their actions.

@llebrun Best would be for servers to have clear rules defined and TOS and suspend users for clear violations. I suspect for some they may benefit from DEI education and reflection.

@kitsunegarcia so short answer, no one is 'taking gas stoves away from the poor.' However a lot of rental apartment complexes do not install gas stoves b/c they are not only inefficient they are more risky.

At this point colleges in blue states should offer LGBT students from red states a waiver on the residency requirement bc most of these at risk students won't be able to pay out of state tuition.

@brewsterkahle It makes me sad - my dad was a SF cab driver for over 50 years, told fabulous stories, told people where to go eat, never once had an accident. Uber/Lyft drove him out of business and the plummeting value of medallions lost him is retirement. This is now the next stage. Total de-personalization and loss of cultural history. :(

@QasimRashid 8 ppl in Allen, TX are dead today b/c of a mass shooter....but the right will still double down on propaganda that its "crime in Democrat cities that is out of control."Nextdoor here in the Seattle area is filled with ppl saying they're leaving WA to move to Oklahoma; North Carolina; Phoenix, AZ or Vegas, NV; or Texas. All b/c they see more homeless here on the streets...and they correlate that with higher crime.

@QasimRashid The visibility of homeless drug use and mental illness seems higher in WA only b/c Washington cops don't lock up homeless addicts or mentally ill in jail like they do in red states. Statistics still show that gun deaths are higher in red states.
