       @mastodonusercount I love to see numbers go up; but over 40k people signing up in an hour? Is there some kind of explanation? Like a change in accounting or known community that decided en masse (in on hour?) to sign up for Mastodon?The number of active instance doubling and a spike of toots the hour before make me think someone is creating a large number of bots. Has anyone seen any evidence of that?
