@sean @kaniini One might as well ask whether Bic supports terrorism, since I'm sure some terrorists have used Bic biros. Of course, smearing the Fediverse is attractive to some people, because they want the net to be controlled by a small number of powerful actors.

@rysiek it seems to me that Mastodon, the Fediverse and ActivityPub are getting more any more attention. BTW yesterday I started coding MeowCat, my fediverse project.

@rysiek MeowCat is basically a macroblogging platform with built0in wiki, It's optimised for writing long posts, but it will also be easy to write short ones. It uses Markdown. Part of my motivation for writing it is I don't likke any of the blogging / social media platforms I've used. Plus the federated aspect is very important to me. I want to get back to when the internet was a world of ends, unlike now when a few big actors control everything.

@thor Orwell predicted this in 1945: "The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which." (from the ending to Animal Farm)

@trickster But they also all speak languages that are similar enough they can talk to each other easily.

@kaniini I don't think it will, because anything that grows the Fediverse helps the whole ecosystem. How do you see Pleroma's functionality and features being different from Mastodon's?
