This is still VERY much a WIP, but I made a thing:https://httpd.rocks/"Setup an HTTPS-enabled web server with #httpd on OpenBSD. Includes A+ security report configuration with haproxy."#openbsd #web

I've updated https://httpd.rocks/ to use #relayd instead of #HAProxy by default! I took some time to brute force my brain to understand relayd and it worked out (much cleaner than haproxy I find!)The instructions for HAProxy still exist; they've just been moved to their own page: https://httpd.rocks/haproxy.html

Updated https://httpd.rocks/- Added a simple TOC- Minor styling changes to break content apart more cleanly- WWW to non-WWW forwarding is now handled via httpd (instead of haproxy)That is all 😄 #httpd #openbsd

Working on putting together a guide for running a core system "only" OpenBSD daily driver (ie. cwm with sane defaults, etc)Hopefully get some free time in the late evenings this weekend to put it together :) (teaser screenshot attached)#openbsd #cwm

I’ve been using the Orion browser on both MacOS and iOS for a couple weeks now. It’s been pretty great. Just as snappy as #safari but with access to #firefox and #chrome extensions. (Also with the recent “drama” around Firefox, the timing was nice…)#browser #web

I finally had some free time to finish up this OpenBSD "base only" guide. It isn't as perfect as I'd like it to be, but if I don't release the mini-site it'll be in limbo forever 😛 "OpenBASED: Setup OpenBSD as a daily driver using only the included, core programs."https://openbased.btxx.org#openbsd #bsd

@r1w1s1 Thanks! Certainly room for tweaks and improvements though, I’m far from an expert 😛

I have OpenBSD running on MassiveGRID VPS. Currently hosting my “OpenBASED” mini site there for testing purposes. I have a bare-bones “status” page that I’ll be running for a few days: https://httpd.rocks/status.htmlPlan to do a write-up after (setup, specs, cost, thoughts)#openbsd #vps #hosting

Finished migrating over most of my projects/repos to #codeberg I figure this will make things easier for those wishing to contribute (as much as I love email-based git workflows)https://codeberg.org/btxx

Reformatted my X201 #thinkpad and ran through my "suckless" #OpenBSD installer for the 7.7 release. Worked without issue (as is the running theme with OpenBSD!)https://codeberg.org/btxx/open-suck-installer

I had no idea that the Lite-XL editor was in #OpenBSD ports. Feels very close to Sublime Text...

Just some initial memory comparisons between my two tiny VPS servers - one running httpd/relayd on OpenBSD, the other running Caddy on Alpine Linux:OpenBSD: 99M / 464MAlpine: 50M / 464MBoth instances are hosting 3-4 simple, static websites. Interesting stuff (to me at least!)#openbsd #alpine #web #caddy
