@GNUxeava This is the reason that I can't take C++ seriously.

@lauren It's shameful. I commend Senator Fetterman for having the courage to seek out treatment for his depression, and hope he can return to just work in due course.

Let's put the power of my social network to use. My aging Lenovo laptop is slowly decaying, and probably could use replacement. I'm looking for an affordable ($500-$1000) replacement that has 16GB Ram, 512GB SSD, and runs Linux (Ubuntu likely). Anyone have any recommendations for something that is a good value in those rough parameters? #helpmespend #linux #laptop

When I began tinkering with creating my own web pages, I used small software like thttpd to serve simple pages I wrote by hand. I'm not sure I would have gotten into it as much without software that (while enormously capable) did not try to scale to enterprise level. As I'm tinkering with asterisk and freeswitch, I can't help but wish there was some smaller, simpler software to tinker with VOIP phones at the scale of home users/offices with 10 extensions. #feelingdumb

@publius @meuon I am nt an expert on this, but perhaps you would find this video to be useful: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cZ2rHqBXO1s&t=2238s He does a pretty good idea of describing basic Arduino hardware and a few other bits and bobs to create a puzzle room prop.

@Popehat I was boycotting Chick-Fil-A long before it was cool.

@lowqualityfacts I'm not certain I would classify this as a low quality fact.

@PopeASDF @MLE_online @jbaggs @JohnS_AZ The biggest problem with ham radio is actually the bit where you talk to hams. (Yes, not all of them. But it's not an insignificant number either.)

@MLE_online There is a difference apparently between "It wasn't expected to go down" and "I didn't expect it to go down."

@internetarchive It also happens to be how I met my wife. We are celebrating our 25th anniversary this week.

@cross @brouhaha These kind of error messages are one of the reasons that I really hate C++ (not the only reason, but a good reason). Debuggers like this aren't even "source level debuggers": they seldom print any message that can quickly be associated with the source code responsible for them. WTF does "nano zone abandoned due to inability to reserve vm space" even mean?
