@simon Related: doesn’t most code generated by these systems suffer the same problem? It will offer code based on licensed code, without any mention of the licenses involved. People who use these trained systems to come up with code are actually then using code that has been stripped of all licenses and attribution.

@simon I am not an IP lawyer or student, but isn’t that saying that one can just change variable names, tabbing, and other inconsequential (to how the code runs) items, and get around IP laws? Seems pretty smart to me that software companies are working hard to be able to crush the little guy by simply remixing their code through a tumbler (my terminology, stolen from the crypto community, for effect). Truly interested in this, I’m not trolling. I am cynical at times, however. 😀

@jerry @vmstan How are you segregating your Sidekiq instances? Does each only cover a single queue (default/ingress/push/pull/scheduler/mailer) or do you have some queues covered by multiple instances?

@jerry @vmstan And do any of your instances ever reach zero?What I’m curious about is the oft written-about approach about having one instance (as example) run default, ingress, push, and pull. The next one runs ingress, default, pull and push. The next runs push, default, ingress and pull. Etc. so that if any instance runs out of things in its first (primary) queue it will start working on the next queue in its list. I run this way but as a single user instance, it’s overkill 😀

@mistyDoes a medium dog that weighs in as a heavyweight count? 😀My two mixed breed dogs should both be about 45lbs based on height and length. The older dog used to weigh 45 but is getting skinny in her old age. 38 lbs today. The young one is shorter but weighs 65lbs. Yikes. Old girl in foreground.

@misty the old dog barks at dogs and not people. The young dog barks at people and not dogs. (Both in the context of behind glass. On a leash etc they aren’t aggressive). So there’s always a it of excitement around here. 😅

@wjmaggos So, the friends are good people who like nazis and cryptocurrency scammers and Elon. Years ago I had a friend (still a friend) who hopped into a thread on FB and said “but ALL LIVES MATTER”. I de-friended him, texted him and said he was an ass, and a few days later, question why the hell I was even on FB. I deleted my account. If they are a real friend, they’ll have other ways of keeping in touch. Otherwise … it’s an excuse.

If you opt in for some government services, then by your definition (not mine) you are pro socialism. That’s such a silly thing to say but you wrote the definition that creates that situation.

I’m amazed at what relatively modern phone cameras can do. My 2+ year old iPhone 13 Pro, with a simple photo of a beach at night, vs a multi-second capture and processing. The background light is from buildings, of course. The first picture approximates the amount of light my human eye saw during the picture captures.#photography
